He is the facilitator, motivator, mentor who brings clarity to his disciple's life, vision and action. The Guru's wisdom leads him to the right path, with right consistency and at the right time.
Ketaki was fortunate to have such a wonderful Guru in Smt. RevathiRamchandran, a Bharatanatyam dancer par excellence and a rare blend of versatility, talent and inspiration. A dancer, choreographer and teacher, Revathi's life is an odyssey through dance and its myriad beauties. Her quest for perfection and her passion for sheer natural grace have given her a unique identity.
Revathi'stalent was discovered by the great Guru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer, a Maestro of the Melattur style of Bharatanatyam, and the visionary who revived the SuddhaNrittam to make it his principal legacy to Revathi. While mastering the dance form, she was moulded by various gurus including Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, Guru BhagavatuluSitarama Sharma, Smt. KalpagamSwaminathan and the renowned Guru VempatiChinna Satyam.
Revathi has enthralled the audience with her rich performances in U.S.A, Canada, U.K., France, Singapore, Italy and Malaysia. By heart she is a scholar and a lifelong learner who has assisted many scholars including Musicologist T.S.Parthasarathy,Dr.Arudra and Dr.Nagaswamy by demonstrating SuddhaNrittam and ThiruTalaJathi.
During this incredible journey, she has been crowned with numerous prestigious awards including 'NadanaMamani', 'Yuva Kala Bharathi', 'Isai KalaiChelvar', 'Vani Kala Sudhakara' and 'Natya Kala Sikhamani'.
Ketaki has been highly inspired by her Guru and has imbibed the same passion, perseverance, perfection, focus and grace in her own dance.
Ketaki says, "my music guru, Smt. Rajalaxmi Pichumani is a woman of substance! At the age of 81, she is upright, very enthusiastic and has a positive approach towards life. A senior-most violinist in Pune and a great master of Carnatik music and Tala, I would need to take several births to absorb the vast ocean of knowledge that she has."
